Prof Helen Dawes, our EDI Officer

EDI is at the heart of our Bionics+ Network, and we have our very own EDI officer who will ensure all we do is to the betterment of all. Professor Helen Dawes, from the University of Exeter, is our EDI officer and this is what she has to say:

We are encouraging network members who may have undertaken non-typical career routes, at every stage of their career and who come from all backgrounds, regardless of: age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race (includes colour, nationality and ethnic or national origins) religion or belief, neurodiversity and socioeconomic background.

We are committed to creating and sustaining a positive, fair and inclusive environment for our network members to ensure that everyone feels welcomed, included and valued. We will seek to go beyond our statutory duties and extend our vision for diversity in our network community to achieve a high level of diversity to  provide an  environment where  research and innovation flourish.

Our flash survey before we started shows we can do better. If you feel passionately and would like to help us on our journey to achieve our vision, please contact us here, we are looking for people to be a part of and help us build an advisory group from all our stakeholders.
